Book Report

Summary
Pony, Soda, and Dally are brothers. Their parents died in an accident, so the oldest, Dally, has to work for their life. Pony and Soda are still students, but Soda
has dropped out of his school. Although Pony looks like a normal student, he and
his brothers are greasers. The Soc hate them, and they hate them, either. Their gang is like a big family, they take of each other. Pony likes Soda better, because he treats Pony like a man, not a kid, not the way Dally treats him.
Pony’s best friend, Johnny, likes their gang very much because his parents don’t care about him. Johnny, Pony, Two-Bits sometimes see movies together. They love movies. One day, they meet two soc girls there. One is Cherry and another is Maria. They and Pony are in the same school. At first, Cherry and Marcia don’t notice that they are greasers. When they find out that, they are really surprise. They are different than other greasers. Then, they become good friends.
However, one night, Pony and Johnny are lying in the park and smoking. The Soc bump into them. The leader, Bob, is Cherry’s boyfriend. They all are drunk. Bob has met them once, and he doesn’t like his girl to be with the greasers. Then, he tells his brother to fight with them. They do the fight so badly. When Pony is almost dead by shoving his face into the fountain, Johnny fights for him. He kills Bob.
They start their plan to hide from the copes. They move to a small church on a mountain. However, one day, there are a teacher and her students visiting the church. Suddenly, the church is on fire. Pony, Johnny, and Dally run out of it, but there are still two kids there. They run into the fire, and save the kids. Johnny and Dally have got burn. Johnny looks really awful. Dally says he is okay.
They have been on the news paper because of the murder, but now they are on newspaper because saving people.
Some of the Soc know Johnny did that in self-defense, so they decide to tell the truth, and they think that they have done a great thing.
However, the other soc are still angry about what they have done to Bob.
So they ask the greasers to have a rumble.
Pony joins the rumble, and Dally, too. He wants to fight for that. Fight for Johnny.
Johnny can’t go with them because he is hurt so badly. Dally fights, he wants to fight for Johnny, too.
After the rumble, they are so happy that they win. Pony and Dally run to the hospital to tell the good news to Johnny. After they tell Johnny they win, Johnny died.
Dally runs out and kill himself with a gun. The gang loses two brothers
A nurse gives Pony a novel “Gone with the Wind” which Johnny read. There is a letter from Johnny.
Reading

I can imagine the pictures in my head when I am reading this novel.
This novel is quite easy for me to read it, and it also very interesting.
I can imagine the setting and the characters in my head. Pony wears a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Soda likes to wear a pair of jeans, but wears nothing on the top of his body.
The neighborhood which they live must be dirty, and there are sands and pebbles every way.
I love the setting of the church.
I imagine the small church is white, and the sunshine pass through the windows of the church, and the doves there are waving their wings.
It is quite beautiful, isn’t it?
I think Dally changes a lot. Before, he treated Pony like a baby, but now he treats him like a real man. He loves his brother more and more.
It is close to our life. It is not a fiction. I can really feel the emotion of the characters, also the life they have. I would like to join the life they have.
It seems really excited.
The features of the characters are clear. I can see the characters in my head.
I like Johnny because he is really brave and he has a strong mind.
He is quite weak, but when Pony was in trouble, he used all of his strength to protect his brother.
The faith that Johnny believe really touch my heart.
Although he is dying, he still keeps his brothers in mind, and wants them to be happy because what he has done is a great thing. He saves people. He thinks it is worth.
I hope that there will be a friend like Johnny for me in the future.
His strong mind touches my heart. He doesn’t afraid about death.
He has open mind, too.
It is really lucky for Pony to have a friend like that.
I don’t like Dally because his behavior. He shouldn’t kill himself.
He should live. He should live happily for Johnny.
I think if I were Johnny, I would like to see my friends live happily. He should
look at the bright side like Johnny did. To end someone’s life is not a good way to show how sad you are.
The stories are pretty simple. It isn’t too hard for me to read. Furthermore,
it is easy to understand that what is the writer talking about.

What I learn

I learned some interesting life styles from this novel.
Teenagers love to go to parties, and most of the teenagers work for their pocket money. They are also having girlfriends and boyfriends this time.
I think it is too young to have friends like that.
Maybe it is because western people have open
mind, but eastern people don’t. I would like to join the life they have. To me it is really new and interesting. I admire western people’s open mind. I think we can
learn from them. Most important of all, the education must change.
We have to take too many tests and a lot of pressure. Most students are not happy at all.
It is pretty difficult for us to find passion and fun in this way.
In our life, there are also greasers in my school, too.
But they are different. They all are students, but don’t like to study.
I think they are just good at shouting and fighting, they use their head to think.
They always make a lot of trouble for their parents.
They think they are cool, but I think they are just babies.
The words in this novel are quite easy, so I don’t have to use my dictionary so many times. I think this novel is suitable for teenagers to read.
I think we can learn from Dally, too. We shouldn’t end our life easily.
It is nice to live here. We should value the things and people we have.
Although it is difficult to live, there are still many important people and
things in our life.
We should always look at the bright side.
In conclusion
We should always look at the bright side.
I think this point is really important.
Life is good and meaningful.
This novel seems to be a normal one, but there is a meaningful story.
We always fight for our life or someone we love.But we don’t have to really fight other people. We can fight by using our heart.

Renaissance

It is David by Michelangelo. He is full of muscles.
The line of the face are really powerful.
His features are perfect. His nose is beautiful.
However , I like Adam more.

I like it because it is the front page of the book , Angel & Devil

, and the figue of the bodies are so nice , and the line of the bodies

are really wonderful.

Also, the painting seem to be meaningful. Adam looked pale, and wanted

some engry and power from God.

There is a angle ,too. It is quite cute. Maybe it was Eve.
